Alison Stewart is well known to Palmerston North audiences. She is currently Director of Music at Huntley School, Marton. Alison has been involved extensive in teaching and performing music in the region.
Alison is the founding Director of the women’s choral group, Camerata. She has been Chorus Master for Opera Whanganui’s productions of Die Fledermaus and Carmen. Alison was deputy conductor, rehearsal, and concert accompanist for the Ambassador Choir which toured in the United States of America. She is the Chair of the Royal School of Church Music, Wellington Branch.
Alison was awarded a Queen’s Service Medal in the 2021 New Year’s Honours for her services to choral music.
